Radiance Specification

The technical specification for the Radiance format is provided as several documents:

TUTORIAL.TXT is an ASCII tutorial describing Radiance.

TUTORIAL.MS is a troff version (with ms macros) of the file TUTORIAL.TXT.

BEHAVR.TXT is an ASCII document that describes how each material type in Radiance behaves in terms of its parameter values.

MATERIAL.MS is a troff version (with ms macros) of the file BEHAVR.TXT.

FORMAT.TXT is an ASCII document describing the file format.

IMAGING.TXT is an ASCII document describing Radiance imaging.

RAY.MS is a troff version (with ms macros) of the file IMAGING.TXT.

LANGS.TXT is an ASCII document describing the four languages involved with Radiance scene descriptions.

SCENE.TXT is a troff version (with ms macros) of the file LANGS.TXT.

MATERIAL.TXT is an ASCII document describing materials and their reasonable values.

WHATIS.TXT is an ASCII command summary document.
